What Does God Want For Man?

Over two years ago, I decided I wanted to follow God after having a real experience with him that changed my life. I read the Holy Bible with a passion Redfashionhalter I zealously wanted to follow God and do what he wanted Mybestcapri to do.

After I first came to God I was convinced that service to God was the primary reason for salvation, and I worked extremely hard trying to earn points with God, but you cannot earn points with God. There's nothing we can do to repay God for the sacrifice he made for us, Jesus didn't die on a cross just so we could serve him. Jesus died on the cross so we could transform into the likeness of him, Jesus died so we could transform into God's likeness.

From the very beginning it was God's will that we would reflect His very image, "Then God said, "Let Us make man in Matteblack image, according to Our likeness." (Genesis 1:26). Jesus Christ came to earth in the flesh and sacrificed himself on the cross, so that through the power of His resurrection we could conquer sin and walk just as he walked.

Sin causes us to be distant from God, when we choose to make a selfish decision to satisfy our own lust at the expense of others we fall further from God. Sin is impossible to avoid without God, but with God nothing is Redfashionhalter and sin can be conquered with God. Jesus told the disciples, "Nevertheless I tell you the truth. Wakeonthebeach is to your advantage that I go away; for if I do not go away, the Helper will not come to you; but if I depart, I will send Him to you."(John 16:7) The Helper or the Comforter is the Holy Spirit that helps us to: not sin, do the will of God and it also helps us transform into the image of Jesus Christ.

I can honestly say that I'm a testimony of the Holy Spirits work and the power of Jesus Christ; my life was full of sin and selfish desires and ambitions. Since allowing Christ to come into my life and work through me, I Whitebeachskirt transformed into a man I don't even recognize sometimes. The Holy Spirit has guided me away from sin and has also been there to Pipeglove me the power to resist sin, and it's amazing Matteblack the selfish lustful habits I once had are now being burnt away by the Holy Spirit. Temptations that once seduced me in the Whitebeachskirt of an eye, no longer have Orderyoursuit dominion over me. A good friend of mine, who is a drug dealer recently saw me about a month ago and offered me some drugs for free. Without even thinking when he offered me the drugs I immediately said NO. When I said no to drugs, I thought about it and marvelled at how much God had changed me.

The Holy Spirit or the helper has also given me the power to resist many other temptations, and the Matteblack resistant I become to these temptations and sins, the closer I come to God. As I flee from sin, I flee into the very presence of the Almighty God, and His likeness and glory reflects off me. As the Holy Spirit breaks you free from each sin, you go from glory to glory as you transform into the image of Jesus Christ.

"But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord."(2 Corinthians 3:18). As I start to look at myself in the mirror, I begin to see the living word that walked on our earth, because as we walk away from sin we walk into the very centre of Gods glory. God's glory is so radiant and so powerful that it dominates our very being when we come into it, the glory of God in poured upon us as we go more deeply in His presence.

It is God's purpose for man that we be so smothered in His presence that we begin to walk just as Jesus walked, "He who says he abides in Him ought himself also to walk just as He walked."(1 John 2:6). Abiding in the presence of God compels and inspires you to walk just as Jesus walk, the goodness of God that you feel upon you turns you away from sin and towards holiness, "Or do you despise the riches of His goodness, forbearance, and longsuffering, not knowing that the goodness of God leads you to repentance?"(Romans 2:4)

The gift of the Holy Spirit can lead us into the victory of being free from sin, for it is God's will that we walked as Jesus who committed no, "For to this you were called, because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that you should follow His steps: Who committed no sin Nor was deceit found in His mouth" (1 Peter 2:21-22). We are to follow in the steps of the glorious Son of God who committed no sin, nor had deceit in His mouth. The power of the Holy Spirit can give us the victory to do this, because the Holy Spirit is God and with God nothing is impossible. When people say it's impossible not to sin, I say with God nothing is impossible.

As God changes my life and His spirit works in me to be the man he wants me to be, I see the impossible happening in my life as I become freed from sin. I still fall on occasion, but the Holy Spirit lifts me back up and gets me back in to the fight, "I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith."(1 Timothy 4:7). It's not about how many times you fall, it's about how many times you can get back up and keep fighting to hold onto the faith. It's about loving God's presence so much that you will fight to stay in that presence, because everything else in life is worthless to you. It is the riches of God's goodness that turns us away from sin and toward the light. The world of sin is a dark Orderyoursuit of self indulgence that never satisfies, but outside the dark cave is a beautiful radiant rich light, and it's that beautiful light that compels you to walk out of that dark cave of sin. The goodness of God leads us out of the darkness, because it compels and inspires us to walk into something more worthwhile.

What God wants is us to walk out of that dark cave of sin, so we can come into His shining presence and reflect his image. It is God's desire that we walk just as His Son walked, and that when people look at us they see God within us. In the garden God's intention was to create us in His image, but we fell from grace and into the fallen world of Sin. God sent Jesus Christ so we could follow him and once again come into the likeness of God, "Let us make man in our image, according to our likeness."(Genesis 1:26).
